Frequently asked questions

  • We will work on nearly anything, if it has a motor or wheels, there’s skills and services we can contribute to your project. This includes limited coverage for electric vehicles too, that means for everything short of software updates and dealer level technical support, we can take care of your Tesla or Rivian too!

  • We are a full service shop; that means we do it all! Every make and model of any age is welcome! On top of that our Lead Mechanic, Hunter, is a skilled fabricator for everything from roll-cages and bash bars, to standard frame reinforcements in our collective war against rust.

  • Get started by completing the form offered to you when you click “Request a Quote“ in the header bar. Alternatively you can message us on instagram, or call or text us at 564-204-7800, or email us at jkiest@dehartautofab.com

  • We are a small operation, meaning we offer a level of one on one involvement in the repair or build process that you won’t find at other shops. Additionally, we aren’t afraid to work with you on large projects, or use parts you’ve sourced yourself, (However, parts from home don’t allow us to offer the same warranties on parts and labor, or fitment guarantees that parts we have sourced for you would have)

  • You can contact us any time through phone, text, email, or various social medias! For your convenience here is our phone and email:

  • We offer standard pricing based on how many hours it takes us to complete the work on your vehicle. Your initial quote will have a rough estimate of how long the labor will take, but that number is subject to change based on the actual labor time. Our labor rate is $125 an hour, with a small charge based on the size of the job to cover consumable materials. The benefits of this pricing method over other shops that offer “flat-rate“ billing is that our mechanics never have to feel like they need to rush on completing a job, ensuring the highest quality results.

  • There’s a few methods we can use to get your vehicle here: we can help you arrange a tow if your vehicle doesn’t run; or, we can accept delivery of your vehicle up to 3 days before your scheduled service date.

  • Yes, but there is a small catch. Due to declining parts quality and a desire to only turn out lasting and high-quality repairs, we require you to go over with us what parts you purchased or plan to purchase for your car to ensure that all required parts are supplied and will fit your vehicle as intended. Additionally, any extra parts we find ourselves needing we will source through whichever channel is fastest to prevent delays.

  • We are located in Gig Harbor Washington, about 10 minutes across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Once you have contacted us and set an appointment time, we will give you our address. Due to our shop’s location we will at this point be remaining appointment only. If you’d like to see the shop before your car is seen, we would be happy to find some time to give you a quick tour and talk about some of our projects.

  • There are several ways you can pay. Sadly we cannot accept cards at this time as we do not have a card reader. We however can take almost all forms of digital money transfers, as well as cash or check. In some instances we are also able to trade for unwanted vehicles/parts/cool stuff.

  • Only on larger jobs with a high total parts cost! That means jobs that either require a high number of small parts, or any job that requires replacing a major component of the car, such as engine or transmission replacements.
